3:11p Planets in the 8th house
Hey everyone-- beginner here. I've been looking at my chart, and lately I've been curious about the 8th house. I have Venus, Pluto and Lilith in my 8th house... Considering it's the house of sex, death, money and secrets, I'm a little concerned. In the past, I had been abused (in childhood and in a past relationship). I'm now a passionate activist against sexual and domestic violence, which is what I think the Lilith in my 8th is referring to. I feel like my activism has been the best form of healing. However, in every relationship I have, there is an element of a power struggle, and I am never really trusting. Yet, another interesting facet of my chart is that I have four of my inner planets in the 7th house... meaning that partnerships are the most major element in my life. And yet, after several attempts at relationships, I can never seem to commit, much less feel like I belong to someone.
Coupled with the combo of Venus-Pluto-Lilith in my chart, does this abundance in 7th house action mean that my marriage (if applicable) would be a dark and secretive relationship, based in an unequal power balance? Are there any other indicators in my chart of relationship issues?
Thanks, everyone.

What role do these play in a relationship...
7th house cusp Ascendant Juno
...as far as compatibility? Say your ascendants were not compatible, but your H7 signs were, or something?
I have totally, totally clicked with someone that astrologically, I'm not supposed to. Virgo/Virgo/Scorpio + Aquarius/Sagittarius/Capricorn...7th house cusps in Taurus and Cancer, Venus in Virgo and Aquarius, respectively.

Holy crap! I'm engaged. I've been reading all this "don't make commitment" until after the retrograde stuff..but how could I say no?? He asked New Years Eve.
Anyways, I know I shouldn't freak out and analyze every bit of astrology related to it, but I am very interested in what our charts show about us. What would be the best chart to draw up to shine a light on our engagement/marriage? I'll post our synastry chart just in case you all have any advice based on that!
thanks!!

4:56p elements and myers-briggs
MBTI has been an interest of mine for some time, and while it would be interesting to note correlations between MBTI types and astrological elements, that is not the point of my post.
Something that makes MBTI particularly interesting is how layered the types can be. Rather than resting on simplistic characterizations, MBTI digs a bit deeper. David Keirsey's Please Understand Me II is quite fascinating in this regard, linking specific types to particular elements (go here for more information about the types in Keirseys' Temperament Sorter). For instance, having a Thinking preference doesn't mean a person lacks emotions - just that emotions are not initially prioritized.
Is this something that we could use more of in astrology? In the absence of a full reading of a person's chart, is it more beneficial to use elements as a way of describing the sequence of how people process information and experiences? Rather than describing certain elemental traits as a quantity (how many thoughts, how much emotion, etc.), what about showing them as different dimensions of the human experience that are accessed in a certain order?
I would imagine that an individual's personal sequence would depend upon the prevalence of each of the elements. But without having that information handy, would it be more helpful to understand the elements this way? For instance (going from the fire-earth-air-water cycle of elements), earth could experience things first through the senses (earth), then intellect (air), followed by emotions (water), and finally with energy (fire). I'm not putting this forth as something concrete I actually believe, just as a way of showing the process
Am I getting the basic idea across?

12:47a Retrogrades
I was wondering how much stock should one put into retorgrades? I was just looking at mine and my boyfriend's natal chart and was quite suprised by the amount of planet's were in retrograde with him compared to mine. He has 5 planet and the true node ( didn't know that could be retrograde. While myself only have 2 planets. So I was wondering does this affect anything? And if so is it a heavy influence? So what do you guys think?

3:17a interaction between signs occupying house of rulership
Just a thought bubble that came up while I was almost asleep.
Is there something special about the interplay between two signs (speaking of energies here, not specific planet placements) where one sign "lives" in the house another one "rules"? Consider the following combinations:
- Aries-Aries
- Taurus-Gemini
- Gemini-Leo
- Cancer-Libra
- Leo-Sagittarius
- Virgo-Aquarius
- Libra-Aries
- Scorpio-Gemini
- Sagittarius-Leo
- Capricorn-Libra
- Aquarius-Sagittarius
- Pisces-Aquarius
Whether in an individual chart or in synastry, I have a feeling there's something especially intriguing underfoot here, but I can't put my finger on it.

12:23p Who's on top?
In my synastry studies, I've stumbled on a bit that said it is traditionally better for the man's Sun to conjunct the woman's Moon in a Sun/Moon conjunction, in order to keep the woman from being more dominant. Ah, sexism.
Does anyone know if a similar view is traditionally held for Venus/Mars conjunctions in synastry? What is your general take on a Venus/Mars conjunction in synastry when its the woman's Mars conjuncting the man's Venus?
Remembered I had this with my current boyfriend and I know its a great thing to have, just wondered what other implications might be behind it.
